How big is the Chinese economy? Is it the world’s sixth largest or the world’s second largest?
The answer, as is often the case in economics, depends on how you count it. Using traditional gross domestic product, adding up all the goods and services in the economy, China is sixth in the world with a GDP of about $1.4 trillion
